This Android Menorah will show you how many candles to light for each day of the Jewish Holiday Chanukah (Hanukkah). It has a cute animation, that shows you which way to light, in accordance with the Ashkenaz customs. It also has the Chanukah prayers in Hebrew, English and Transliterated. Plus, we have the prayers professionally and beautifully sung by Mo Kiss. In addition, there is a widget function that shows the Menorah right on your home screen! Nice. Does Android have a way to allow the nikuds, or is that stretching it too far? I must be getting a little bit better in my Hebrew because I was able to read it all anyway. (learn by rote! :-) ) But more than this app, I'm glad to see you guys are at least still thinking about the Android platform. One suggestion, you might want to include the QR to this app on this webpage, so we geeks (errr, more experienced users) can just point our devices cameras at the screen and download the app. (I'll email a QR to your info@rustybrick email address) Thanks!

For now, we can't do anything on the Nikud. Good suggestion, adding QR code now. Feel free to test.

My Dad is in hospital after a serious stroke. Obviously we couldn't light a real menorah for him there. So we showed him this app last night and played him the music. He seemed to recognise it and we even got a smile. Thanks very much for the app. Simon (Running Froyo on HTC Desire)

This sounds pretty good, never thought of anything like this from Android. This is an opportunity to light candles when we are not to when we wanted to. Good thing is that it contain some good prayers too, perfect app for Jewish people.
