Siddur Version History

This page describes the latest features and release dates for Siddur for the iPhone and iPod Touch. It is our goal to release new features quickly, even if they are somewhat limited. To stay up-to-date on what we have released to Apple, what Apple approved and what Apple still needs to approve, check this page.

Version 2.4

• Luach now shows Erev Chaggim and shows the specifics with regard to Sukkot and Pesach.
• Harachaman for Succot in Birkat HaMazon for all Nusachs now works.
• Bug with Torah Reading Section crashing on last parsha corrected.
• Lots of Nusach Edut Mizrach Changes.
• Hoshanos Cleanups
• Mussaf for Shalosh Regalim Cleanups
• Remove Web Update for Minyan Database (updates are faster will just do it that way for now)
• Tachanun will now show on day after Isru Hag Sukkot

Version 2.3

• Minyanim data update now runs on Minyan page, not on start up.
• If Minyanim are updated, it will show you the number of updates and give you option to update the data.
• Option to show Hallel and hide Tachanun for Yom Ha'Atmaut.
• Cut off time for Maariv is now 6am instead of 12am to prevent late daveners from seeing wrong smoneah esrei. 
• Nusach Sefard now will show Torah Reading on Fast Days and Haftorah
• Corrected some typos in Nusach Edut Mizrach
• Fixed Hebrew Date selector bug when 30th day was selected for months without 30 days
• In Maariv (Chabad) removed moidem d'rabbanon
• Removed extra Yehue l'rotzion before oisei Sholom.
• Shacharis (Ashkenaz) the "Besefer Chayim" at the end of the Shemoneh Esrei was slightly misplaced, now fixed.
• Laminatzeyach will no longer show on Erev Yom Kippur
• Started the 10 days of Repentance on the 2nd of Tishrei to facilitate the use of the Siddur at Maariv after Rosh Hashana.
• Not sure if this is correct, double check: in mincha and maariv at שלום רב (ashkenaz) it says " בעיניך לברכנו  ולברך את כל..." when it should be just "  בעיניך לברך את כל..."

• Fixed error in edut hamizrach benching, skips last lines of 3rd bracha and first lines of 4th bracha

• Fixed Sefardic Brachot Bug

• Added Tikon Tefilatee after Ashrei in Mincha.  For Sephardic
• Shavout Date reported Israel as Outside Israel and vis versa
• Zmanim checked in the future used the current daylight savings offset.  This is now corrected.
• Added Smart Siddur feature for Sephardic/Edot Mizrach nusach.
• Updated Minyanim with 9/16/08 data from Godaven.com
• Manually built a list for popular Israeli cities for Minyan database

• Sefard Smart Siddur
• New location manager

• Improved the default back to last location, after closing out the Siddur.
• The "Bedtime Shema" section came up blank for Seferadic Mizrach...
• Luach that displays dates for the whole year's chagim at a glance / Provide a list of all the yom tovim with their English dates for quick reference (via shake on luach)
• Added "Arial" font as an option. No other fonts render nekudot properly.
• in Arvit (maariv) show Baruch Hashem Leolam when out of Israel, but hide it in Israel
• Add candle lighting times to zmanim for Fridays / Havdalah for Saturdays. Default to 18 / 42 minutes, but allow override via Settings.
• Zmanim should clearly mark sof zman shema and tfila as the GRA since there is now a MGA zman as well.
• Add day of week to the Luach. So if it is a Monday, say Monday, if it is a Tuesday, say Tuesday...
• Minyanim now geocoded to city for non address matches
• If not address geocode, show city/country level match note
• Uploaded new godaven.com data as of Sept 3rd.
• Minyan address now maps to address as oppose to lat/long coords.
• Minyan details now are filtered to only show headings if there is data in that section.
• Hallel has Bracha for Lulav/Esrog
• Hoshanos Added
• Added Mussaf for Shalosh Regalim (all nusachs)
• Removed white space around the borders of Siddur text
• Auto Location feature now looks for time stamp of geolocation retrieved date and uses only new locations retrieved.
• Help documentation added to iPhone app
• Major major improvements to Sephardic/Edot HaMizrach text. We went through it in detail and cleaned a ton of it up. I am sure there will be bugs, but your feedback helped a lot. Do note that some of the feedback was specific to certain 'flavors' of this Nusach, we need to be as "generic" as possible when releasing the Siddur. So hopefully that is okay because we cannot release 30 different flavors of Sephardic text. Also, Sephardic does not have the Smart Siddur yet, we hope to add that soon...
