My New Office, The Old Conference Room

We are having a space issue here at RustyBrick. The office management people won't let us go into a new space, without keeping our current lease. This is even though we would like to give up this space, for more space with them - they would be making more money - go figure. In any event, we had to be creative with what we had until our lease ends.

The solution was to get rid of our conference room and use it for people, instead of meetings. At first, we had Joe move into the conference room to test it out. He sat at the big conference room desk and worked there. He liked it, no one else moved in there yet and he had some peace and quiet. However, I had no good place to have a meeting with four or so people. My office was just too small.

Since I am part of 90% of the RustyBrick related meetings, I decided it would make sense if I had meetings in my office. I decided to give up my office, give it to Joe and the team - and move into the conference room. We moved my desk yesterday and then I acquired a small meeting table, which can fit four of five people comfortably.

This morning, I was all discombobulated and confused. You see, my desk and orientation of that desk and stuff on the desk, was the way it was for about 8 years. Then yesterday, after about 8 years, we moved it. When I sat down at my desk in the morning, I caught myself reaching for the wrong drawers, looking at the wrong screens and my typing was off. In any event, this is a nice temporary solution to our space issue.

Here are pictures of my new office:

Hey, Barry! The look of your new office is better. You'll get used to it soon. The first thing that I loved about this space is the painting. It's just relaxing to stare at it.

Oh your office really look nice but it can improved more. That can be more fully equipped, more elegantly furnished and more professionally staffed and worry-free. Janet Stromberg, virtual office New York

If you are running a new business, a start-up company or you simply use to work from home and you don’t need a full-time office space, you can choose a virtual office. If you don’t need a full-time office space, but you would like to have a high- profile business address in a premium and many of the benefits that go along with it, the Virtual Office service is an ideal solution: you can concentrate on the business with the support of a professional team answering your phone calls, handle your mail and faxes and take messages in your company name. It's an odd economic environment for a landlord to be saying anything other than a cheery "no problem!" to a real, live tenant.

Yea, especially one who has always paid on time for the past 8 years.

Nice - I like it ! For me, though, it would be very disorienting when slideshows and presentations would be projected directly at my forehead. Use it in good health to help alot of people and make a lot of money!

Ha, I wouldn't be sitting there when using the projector. I'd move to the conference table.

I wonder if there's any way to mount the projector on the ceiling, that would be cool.
