Passover is around the corner and it is an interesting time here at the office. Besides the fact that the bosses are out for part of the holiday, there is the whole process of cleaning the office of all "Chametz" from the office...
Now that we hired a full-time iPhone developer, I have more time to try new things out. My plate is always full of these goodies and it was time for me to try Android.
The first thing I do is get an Android device to play with. Barry purchased Google's device called the Nexus One...
One of the more popular questions we get from our Jewish iPhone app audience is, how can I give one of your apps as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah present. Until now, there really wasn't a good way to do this. But now, you can "Gift" iOS Apps. You can gift apps either directly on your iPhone or on iTunes...
I am really excited to share with you the latest feature that I think many of our dedicated iPhone Siddur users will love. We have added, to version 4.4, Push Notifications as a reminder system for Zmanim...
I wrote one of these posts in Q3 2009, so I figured I'd let all my billions of fans (kidding) know where to find me in and around the second quarter of 2010.
SphinnCon Israel : March 7
Earlier this month, you missed me already, I was in Israel hosting SphinnCon Israel...
At 8:30am (EST), I went to the Apple Store online and ordered an iPad. I finished my order at about 8:32, so may have been one of the first to order the iPad. The iPad will be delivered on Saturday, April 3rd.
We ordered only one iPad, and we ordered the 16GB Wifi...
I was doing some programming with geocodes and I came up to this area on google maps. As you can see from this picture, you can clearly see Summer, Winter, Spring and Fall in one section of map! How beautiful is that?
Move around the map and the underlying technology of map tiles become evident...
Version 4.3 of the iPhone Siddur was recently approved. I wanted to share with you the key new features in this version...
This past Sunday, March 7th, I helped organize the second ever largish SEO event in Israel. The event is a small Search Marketing Expo event named SphinnCon and it is the second time we had it in Israel...
When you have thousands of pages containing helpful information that are highly ranked in Google, there are two ways to move that information to a new domain: The right way, and the PayPal way...
Ever since I read about and then tried Google Wave, regular e-mail just seems so cluttered and primitive. Recently, I was added in to a large e-mail thread about organizing a ski trip...
Apple approved a semi-large update to our FREE iPhone App for Purim, the Megillas Esther iPhone App. We made some big improvements to this holiday app, just in time for Purim, which is just about a week away.
First change we made was to add the brachos (blessings) before and after the reading...
About a month ago, we had a security breach at our office. Well, at least we thought we did - it turned out not to be a security issue, but rather a disgruntled guy from the cleaning crew...
Remember the days when getting music meant leaving your chair and driving to a store? Remember having to buy a whole album of filler to get that one great song you heard on the radio? iTunes didn't only change the way music was distributed... it changed music. This is why the upcoming milestone is so momentus...
I often get quoted in publications by journalists on topics such as search engines, Google, search marketing and iPhone related topics - but I never get my headshot included in any of these write ups. That has changed with today's piece on USA Today, named Why Google's fiber network experiment could be...
We are having a space issue here at RustyBrick. The office management people won't let us go into a new space, without keeping our current lease. This is even though we would like to give up this space, for more space with them - they would be making more money - go figure...
One question we get fairly often about our iPhone Siddur is if we will be adding English. Up until recently, I have always told people we have no plans on adding English. The issue was, for us at least, finding a quality English translation. We have partnered with someone to bring English to the Siddur...
When it comes to security in web applications, just like with security in anything physical, you can never be totally and 100% sure that your data and application will be protected from malicious actions...
As everyone knows by now we work hard here at RustyBrick, but we also have a lot of fun...
Yesterday, I received a request for proposal (RFP). This RFP was fairly detailed, with the exception of having the person's contact information. The person who requested the proposal had a very common name, and didn't leave a phone number, address or company name...
