Gifting iPhone Apps Is Here

Published March 22, 2010

One of the more popular questions we get from our Jewish iPhone app audience is, how can I give one of your apps as a Bar/Bat Mitzvah present. Until now, there really wasn't a good way to do this. But now, you can "Gift" iOS Apps. You can gift apps either directly on your iPhone or on iTunes.

Gift an App on Your iPhone via the App Store

Find the app you want to gift in the App Store and then select the box with the arrow up at the top of the app page. It will open up a share menu that lets you select "Gift." Click it and go through the process. Here is a screen shot of gifting the iPhone Siddur:

Gift an App on Your Computer on iTunes

Go to iTunes, find the app and click on "Gift this app". Here is a screen capture:

So, if you want to buy our iPhone Siddur go to iTunes or App Store and click on that link and go through the process.

In the past, we recommended that people buy iTunes Gift cards, but they were always worried it would lead to the kid buying games, as opposed to our Siddur. No need to worry anymore, you can now "gift" specific apps.
