Megillas Esther App Loved By Jewish iPhone Users
We track our iPhone App downloads and sales daily but we never really share that data with the public. This time, we have decided to share the downloads for the past month, for our Megillas Esther iPhone App.
As you know, the app was incredibly popular amongst Jewish iPhone users. It was even featured on an iPhone Purim costume in the main home bar. In addition, I personally saw it being used by a dozen people in my synagogue and I've seen dozens of tweets from people telling me they used it or saw someone using it in their synagogue. It was a hit and we are so happy to be in a position to bring happiness and a useful tool for the Jewish community to use on such a special and fun holiday.
So when I saw that over 16,000 people downloaded the app in the past 30 days, I was not all that surprised.
There are two spikes for the downloads. The first was between March 3rd and 5th when we released an update to the app, making Megillah App iPad friendly. The second was the night and day of Purim, where people downloaded it, likely in synagogue or at home, to use for the reading of the Megillah.
Here is the chart of downloads for this specific app over the past 30-days. I love how it just dies off the day after Purim.
