AT&T Extends Deal With Apple?

Published May 6, 2010

iphone & verizonCan you imagine the iPhone on Verizon Wireless? Forget the fact that the day Verizon supports the iPhone is the same day AT&T's network becomes stable. Forget the fact that so many more devices will be sold. More of our apps will be downloaded and that is what is important to iPhone App developers.

So what is the hold up Apple? It is not just about you! It is about providing a solid network for your device. It is about extending the widest reach of customers to your developers. It is about increasing the user base that will eventually view your iAds. So what is the hold up?

ComputerWorld reports that Brian Marshall, a Wall Street analyst at BroadPoint AmTech, saying AT&T and Apple likely extended their exclusive deal by giving iPad customers a 50% discount on typical wireless services. Because of that, he feels the iPhone won't come to Verizon Wireless until the first quarter of 2011.

The only hope for Verizon customers is that both Apple and AT&T would not comment about any extension of their deal.
