Office Chinese Food On Christmas Day

Published December 25, 2017

There is a RustyBrick tradition that on Christmas Day at the office we sponsor Chinese food for those who come in to the office to work this day.

Most of the employees, even non-Christian and Jewish employees do take off today but the ones that don't traditionally are treated to Chinese food.

Why Chinese food on Christmas? I'll let you Google it

The funny thing is that where we are located, about a 10 minutes drive from here, it is business as usual.  All the stores, restaurants, etc are almost all open.  The area is very densely populated by observant Jews and thus, the stores are mostly operated by Jews and they remain open on Christmas.  Of course, the reverse is true - when it is a Jewish holiday, almost all the stores are closed and there is no traffic.

So technically, today we did not have to get Chinese food. We could have had hot dogs, burgers and pizza without any difficulty, but we got Chinese food anyway.
