Apple Watch Wishes Me A Happy Birthday

Published March 22, 2018

Apple has just wished me a Happy Birthday, not on my iPhone but on my Apple Watch.  I don't believe I've seen this before, and I had an Apple Watch since they came out with it years ago.

Here is the notification that popped up an hour or so ago on my Apple Watch:

Then when I clicked on the notification, it did this animation on the Apple Watch clock home screen.  Here are two slides of that animation:

This feature launched with WatchOS 4, so less than a year ago.  Here is a video of it in action from someone else:

Of course, if you are logged into Google and you go to the Google home page and it is your birthday (and they know your birthday), you get a special Doodle:

The Facebook notifications don't stop and of course the text messages.

Update: If you go to my Twitter profile @rustybrick today you will see balloons floating up the page.

Finally, I'd like to Ronnie a happy birthday as well!
