Paper Supplies During Earth Week

Just an hour ago, we received a phone call from a paper supplies company. I ultimately did not end up speaking with the sales person. But I thought to myself, really - the day after Earth Day? During Earth Week you are selling paper?

Typically, when someone calls about paper supplies such as paper, ink, toner, copiers, printers and so on - I tell them no. Not because I hate when people sell me stuff and I hate selling stuff to people but because we don't use much paper here. Everything we do it computerized, all our "paperwork" has been digitized through the custom web applications we build for our clients and for ourselves (funny how I am selling on a post like this). But the truth is, I rarely print anything. The only time I print something is when someone makes me hand them a signed contract - as opposed to sending them a digital version of that contract. Outside of that, we don't print.

Since we do not print - I feel like having this sales person acquire us as a customer is honestly a waste of their time. We may buy a new toner cartridge every year and a box of paper every year as well. So it is not worth their time.

Back to Earth Day, which was yesterday - why would they call the day after Earth Day. I wonder how many people go off on these people about selling paper on earth day. I can just imagine the angry remarks an earthy type of person would give these sales people. It was too bad I did not connect with this sales person, it would have made for a fun conversation.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I am not the nature type. But hey - I always like a good laugh.
