Last Friday, March 2nd, during the nor'easter (see Wikipedia) a massive old tree fell on my house. Between the rain and extremely strong winds, the tree was uprooted and fell on the roof of my house. I'll start off by saying that no one was hurt but the house did receive some damage.

My wife called me while I was at work and said a tree fell on the house, it sounded like a bomb and the whole house felt like it shifted. She told me everyone was safe, I had her call the roofing guy who came fairly quickly to review the house, damage and patch things up temporarily so the water damage would be limited. I immediately drove home during the storm and took pictures of the damage.
Being a blogger, I of course took some selfies, as you can see from the image above. I also remembered that I can take video footage from one of the cameras I installed on my house. So I took the video and made it into a GIF for fun.
Of course, now I am going through the process of repairing the damage and dealing with the insurance company. But thankfully everyone is safe, and the rest can all be repaired.
Here is another picture of me standing next to the tree this past Sunday. I am not sure if it really shows off how large the tree was.
Now this tree is buried in two-feet of snow from the around 26 inches of snow we got yesterday during that new storm.
I'll let you know how the insurance claim process goes, as I go through it. It should be an experience, as I have never claimed any property damage through an insurance claim in my life.
