Barry Schwartz Search News Roundup: July 13, 2006

Published July 13, 2006
Feeling like I am getting back into the swing of things, after the conference and all. Today is a hungry day, but what can you do. We are beta launching a huge site today and a big launch for it tomorrow. Then we launch some customer e-commerce sites Monday, and then do a full release of a large site the end of next week. We are also still interviewing PHPers, so that always takes some time out of the day. Ok, let's get back to search news. Search Engine Roundtable Topics:
  1. NOODP Tag "Should" Have No Effect on Search Engine Rankings - good, because, see what comes later.
  2. Quick Spam Reporting Tool & SEOMoz's Page Strength Tool - sweet tool, deserves two days of mentions
  3. Yahoo! Publisher Network to Hold Focus Group in California - Focus on this, huh?
  4. Yahoo! Ranking Banned Sites for Select "Hand Placed" Queries? - not good Yahoo!
  5. 301 Redirect From Non-WWW to WWW Hurts One Webmaster - not good Google
Search Engine Watch Topics:
  1. Counting Links At The Search Engines - 1 + 1 is not always 2
  2. Yahoo Reaches Out To U.S. Hispanics Via Deal With Hispanic Digital Network - Latam
  3. More Details On Google Sitemaps Query Stats - Go Vanessa!
  4. AdSense Consulting Group Fed Up With Google AdSense - ouch!
  5. Speculation: Google To Begin Selling Radio Ads Through AdWords Soon - Should be interesting, to say the least!
  6. Google Adds Supports For NOODP Tag To Opt Out Of ODP Titles - seriously, Vanessa rocks!
