As most of you know, RustyBrick does not outsource our development or design work. We like to control the timelines, deliverables and everything about how we deliver product. Sadly, no matter how many times I write about it here, we still get tons of phone calls asking us to outsource. We hired Lenny to deal with all those outsourcing calls.
But as you can imagine, we also get several emails per day about outsourcing. Normally I just delete them, if they do not already get caught by my email spam filter. But as I was deleting one the other day, I saw the word "Jerk" in the email. So I quickly shook my iPhone to undo the delete so I could read the email. Yes, an outsourcing email caught my attention.
The email said "We are not fortune 500 company neither we say that we are Jerk of all trades but we are Jerk of business that you do." What?! Do you mean Jack of all trades? Probably, right?
Here is a copy of part of the email where I smudged out the company name and highlighted the "Jerk" words used here.:
Or maybe not, maybe they wrote jerk on purpose either to catch my attention or to call me out as a jerk? Either way, it did catch my attention and one of the only outsourcing emails I read. No, I did not hire them - if they cannot communicate properly on their introduction email, how can I work with them on complex business software?
